I’m a 22 year old female originally from Co. Donegal…
…currently living in Dublin, Ireland.
Food has always been a huge part of my life – my mum is the worlds greatest baker and my dads repertoire is more culturally diverse than a penguin in a sombrero…
(sickened there was no real picture)
So a lot of my happiest childhood memories (well, a lot of my memories full stop) involve food in one way or another. I think food is an amazing interest to have – it’s an experience that brings people together, creates talking points, inspires creativity, and above all makes people happy. What can’t a sandwich solve? My other interests are mainly reading and running, so here’s 2 quotes that pretty much sum me up:
“There is no love sincerer than the love of food.”
― George Bernard Shaw
“The keys to life are running and reading. When you’re running, there’s a little person that talks to you and says, “Oh I’m tired. My lung’s about to pop. I’m so hurt. There’s no way I can possibly continue.” You want to quit. If you learn how to defeat that person when you’re running. You will how to not quit when things get hard in your life. For reading: there have been gazillions of people that have lived before all of us. There’s no new problem you could have–with your parents, with school, with a bully. There’s no new problem that someone hasn’t already had and written about it in a book.”
― Will Smith…….no seriously. The Fresh Prince.
So I thought I’d start a wee blog just to share recipes and things with anyone who was interested and to keep in touch with family back home. I don’t claim to be an amazing chef and have never tried my hand at blogging before so I’m going to take it as a learning experience! 🙂
